ADULT UMPIRE CLINIC #2

Sun, March 18, 2012 at 8:30am-12:30pm

Sheldon Park Baseball Field

(RAIN-out, go to Oak Chan Elementary Multipurpose)

*ALL the A through Majors teams are required to designate a parent on their team to umpire 3 games (AA or AAA division) during the regular season.  If you have not volunteered to manage or coach a team, then this is a great opportunity to stay involved with Little League and get out of snack bar duty.

Folsom National Umpire Association (FNUA) will provide all the necessary training for you to be a successful adult volunteer umpire at this clinic.  You can signup for the umpire clinic by logging into http://fnll.ivolunteer.com

APPROVED BASEBALL BATS

Latest article for 2012 Bat Rules at http://www.littleleague.org/media/newsarchive/2011/Sep-Dec/LLAnnouncesBatRuleChangesfor2012Season.htm

Wooden and aluminum metal/alloy bats are not subject to the moratorium. Bats that have only a metal or alloy barrel (and no other material, unless it is in the end cap of the bat), and if it meets the other standards (length, diameter, etc. for the respective division in which it is used) are not subject to the moratorium, regardless of the composition of the handle or the transition to the barrel.

The list of approved bats for Little League baseball is updated on the following links.  Please check the list before purchasing a new bat.

INTEL MATCHING GRANT PROGRAM

“The Intel Involved Matching Grant Program aims to recognize and motivate Intel employees, globally, to engage in outreach and volunteerism to make our communities a better place to live, work, and play. Its objective is to support employees’ giving their time and talent to qualified non profits and non-governmental organizations, in addition to schools. We also wanted to recognize our employees who give generously of their time beyond school-related activities, and give them the opportunity to earn money for organizations that are meaningful to them.  After a minimum of 20 hours has been accrued by Intel employees volunteering at a school or qualified non profit organization, a donation or "match " will be triggered from the Intel Foundation.  $10,000 maximum per eligible organization per year.”  (courtesy of www.Intel.com)

If you are a current Intel employee who volunteers their time to Folsom National Little League (managers, coaches, assistant coaches, umpire, snack bar, field prep, adult game coordinator, etc), then please follow the instructions on the following document:

SPECIAL THANKS TO

SIERRA SERVICE PROJECT

The Sierra Service Project organization recently donated a green storage box to Folsom National Little League.  The storage box was installed at Rodeo Park Field 2, and is being used to store field prep equipment (drags, rakes, paint, hose, etc) and the bases for that field.  No more dragging and borrowing equipment from Rodeo Field 1 to perform the proper field maintance at the far away back Field 2.  THANK YOU.

2011 Season - New Board of Directors

This year's board of directors is excited to build upon the efforts of last season's board. We have many things planned for the season, including offering additional coaching clinics with a more extensive coach development program and an adult volunteer umpire program.

Every year, Folsom National needs new volunteers to help on our board of directors.  Some board members move on and we always need new individuals to keep things running efficiently.  Little League baseball is designed to operate smoothly as board members cycle through the organization year-to-year.  All the responsibilities are managable with the help of current and past board members, as well as ongoing training and support from the District staff.  Even after the September 2010 elections, you can still join the board. We have one OPEN position, Div A Rep.  Please contact us if you are interested in helping in 2011.

Fall Ball Season

Fall games have begun.  The schedule between the leagues went through many versions before the current one was agreed to.  Your coaches should have the most current schedule.  As soon as we are sure the schedule won't have any more changes, we'll update the Game Schedules section of this site.

Fall Ball is played from September through October 31st.  Some games outside of Folsom may continue after 10/31, but Folsom fields are closed after that date.  Games are typically on Sunday afternoons and one more game sometime during the week.

Our First 2011 Sponsor

We would like to welcome back and thank Islands Fine Burgers & Drinks as our first 2011 regular season sponsor!!!

2011 Season - New Board of Directors

Last week's annual membership meeting and bbq successfully voted in our new 2011 board members.  Saturday night at their first board meeting, the 2011 board was subsequently elected into their board positions.  Please join me in welcoming in your new FNLL president, Mikael Anderson!  See the Contact Us page for the entire 2011 board roster.
