Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How old does my child have to be to play FNLL?
A: To play Tee Ball, your child must be at least league age 5. See the Little League Age Chart for details.
Q: Can my child play in FNLL without living in the boundary?
A: Yes, under the following conditions:
- Your child attends a school located within our boundaries.
- You previously lived inside the boundary while playing, but moved — and qualify for a II(d) waiver. In this case, contact our player agent for help.
Q: How do I know which division my child will be placed in?
A: Divisions are based on your child’s league age. Kids under age 8 are placed by age only. Players 8 and older are evaluated before the season. Visit our Division Info page for details.
Q: Are there opportunities for children with disabilities to play?
A: Yes — the Challenger Division is available to all players with physical or intellectual disabilities. There are no age or residency requirements.
Q: When are practices and games held?
A: During Spring, teams typically play twice a week — once on a weekday and once on Saturday. In Fall, games are usually one weekday and one Sunday. Practice is generally once a week and is set by the manager. See our Season-at-a-Glance.
Q: How long does the season last?
A: Spring season typically runs from March 1 through the Thursday before Memorial Day. AA has a tournament that adds one week. AAA and Majors advance to the Tournament of Champions, which adds 10–12 days. Fall Ball runs from just after Labor Day to early November.
